Tonight is the world premiere of a feature documentary that I shot last year. It’s taking place at the Santa Barbara Film Festival and it’s all very exciting! The reason it’s so exciting is that this film is an amazing story that needs to be seen by as many people as possible, as it really does have the potential to save lives.
The film is called The Challenge and it tells the story of Alex Smith. In June 2015 Alex completed an Ironman, known as the toughest single-day challenge someone can undertake, carrying his 40kg disabled son Harrison the whole way. This epic achievement was for Harrison, who is dying from a fatal muscle-wasting disease: Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The hope is that a major broadcaster/distributor will buy it so that as many people as possible can see this film.
It was such an honour to help tell this story and Alex, Donna, Harrison & William inspire me with their strength and courage.
