Well John O’Rourke and I were at it again but this time it was about Punk music, with this year being the 40th anniversary of Punk. The extremely affable Thurston Moore was our guide this time and it was an absolute pleasure working with such a talented man.
Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth was in New York in 1976 but he had a passionate interest in British Punk. Now that he’s a London resident himself, Thurston explores the music that changed his life, meeting Buzzcocks’ Pete Shelley, Chrissie Hynde, director Julien Temple and celebrating one of his favourite bands, X-Ray Spex.
Artsnight: Thurston Moore – 40 Years of Punk is still on BBC iPlayer. Catch it while you can! Go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b073gmvp
