For Seven months I had the distinct pleasure of being one of the lead DOPs (as well as MegaStar Will Pugh) on an epic 10-part music documentary series for Sky Arts.
Spearheaded by the awesomeness that is Pulse Films we shot all over the world to make ten sixty-plus minute films!
I filmed in the UK, LA twice, NYC, New Orleans, Jamaica and Berlin and the best news of all is that the first of ten episodes airs tonight on Sky Arts at 9pm. Don’t worry if watching live TV isn’t your bag for after tonights episode all ten episodes will be available on Sky On Demand, NowTV and Sky GO!
I had such an amazing time filming trailblazing artists all over the world and worked with some tremendous people. Special mention has to be made of Carl Hindmarch who was the series producer and directed 3 films. He is also the one taking the picture of me an Niall Rodgers you see above.
Also got to work with Karen McGann who was an absolute pleasure as well as shoot two of the films with James Maycock who I also hadn’t worked with before and was also brilliant and made two great films.
Last but by no means least I have to mention my main man Sam Bridger who was the series director and if you read this blog religiously (why!?) then you’ll know that he is a frequent collaborator. His two episodes are some of my favourite and as always is an utter joy to work with.
If you are in the UK then you have to check it out. There was talk during the making of that it would be sold to the US or might end up on a streaming channel but I haven’t heard anything concrete just yet.
And yes for the geeks amongst you it was all shot on an Alexa Mini. Very nice!
